How billing works, how to change plans, and what to expect

This article explains how subscriptions and billing work in Droplink, what happens when you change your plan, and how upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations are handled.

No fine print, no surprises.


📅 How billing works

Droplink subscriptions are billed either:

  • Monthly, or

  • Yearly

Billing happens at the start of each billing period.

For yearly plans:

  • You are charged once for the year

  • The price equals 8 months instead of 12

  • Credits are still added monthly, not all at once


⬆️ Upgrading your plan

You can upgrade your plan at any time.

When you upgrade:

  • The new plan becomes active immediately

  • Your available credits are adjusted to the new plan

  • You can start using higher limits and features right away

Upgrades are applied without interrupting your workflow.


⬇️ Downgrading your plan

You can also downgrade your plan at any time.

When you downgrade:

  • Your current plan remains active until the end of the current billing period

  • The downgrade takes effect at the start of the next billing period

  • Until then, you keep full access to your current plan and credits

This ensures a smooth transition with no sudden restrictions.


🔄 What happens to credits when changing plans

  • Upgrading:
    Credits adjust according to the new plan immediately.

  • Downgrading:
    You keep your current credits until the billing period ends.
    The new credit amount applies with the next period.

Referral credits and other non-plan credits are not affected by plan changes.


❌ Canceling your subscription

You can cancel your subscription at any time.

When you cancel:

  • Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period

  • No further charges are made after that

  • You can still access your account and data during the active period

Canceling does not delete your account.


⚠️ Failed payments

If a payment fails:

  • Droplink will automatically retry the charge

  • You’ll be notified to update your payment method

  • Access may be temporarily limited if the issue isn’t resolved

Once payment is successful, full access is restored.


🧾 Invoices & payment history

All invoices and billing details can be found in the Billing section of your account.

There you can:

  • View past invoices

  • Download receipts

  • Check billing dates and amounts

Everything is transparent and accessible at any time.
